I’ve actually developed a writing system for Othertalk, the language Vintage and Blaze are talking in this picture. If anyone is interested, I’ll try to get around to cleaning up my notes and post a guide on writing Otherscript.

Lilly : Same after the tragic events that occured 1000 years ago, despite its frighting appearance and real dangers, the Everfree Forest is a place of  wonders beyond expectations. Beings from all over the Known World come to discover or dwell in these dark woods.
A lot of adventurers, even us, the Vanguard, think that we know Everfree perfectly, but one thing is sure, never underestimate the great spirits and mysteries that lurk across those lands.

Since it was her birthday some days ago (refering to DA), and I really appreciate her art style, animations and story telling, I’ve made a little something. Also took the occasion to try a new color application process and study light sources.

The Changeling Hive

My first subject will be the Changeling Hive. After the attack of Canterlot, I have to say that those creatures are one of most frightening but still fascinating life form in the Known World.
Only the oldest history books talk about legends from deserts, far away in the south-est. Plus, archelogists made an interesting find some decades ago, paintings, representing two civilizations, wiped out of the surface of this world for confusing reasons after a tragic event.

[Picture 1] From my observation during the attack, I could discern three types of indivudual from the hive.
The first seems quite similar to a pony, but still have the hability to fly AND use a precise magic to wrap and knock out their preys.
The second seems to be stronger, taller, and better armed, maybe some kind of guards.
Only one individual of the last type was encountered, it was guarding the Hall of Relics and got … elminated before the love explosion. Its form was really disturbing, it was nothing like a pony …

[Picture 2] The Queen Chrysalis was pretty impressive, same if I did not clearly see her, her magic presence was overwhelming the city.
I tried to make a picture of the Alicorn from the excavation’s paintings, if those are real, she could be older than Princess Celestia herself. Alicorns have an undifined life span, I wonder if the Queen and this mysterious Alicorn are related .

[Picture 3] A changeling transformation is as weird as impressive at close range. Their skin ( the black tainted shell ) is composed of magic cells that take form and color at will … well … most of the time.

[Picture 4] This paint represents my idea of the hive. Every answer about this “civilization” open windows on some new questions. The blast that ended the attack left nothing for us to study.
Is there more type of changeling ? probably.
Can they absorb properties from other species as the third type let me think ?
Do changelings convert their prey after the love essence extraction ? 
Do they have another need in their feeding ? vegetables, maybe meat ?

I guess that only time will let us know …

Nath : It’s always hard to be the bird of ill omen. Ponies staring at you with a last spark of hope in their eyes and be the one responsible of its extinction.

A pony who disapeared in weird circumstances remains unfound today, but after weeks of research, we had to make our first statement to his close relations.

(( In the occasion of the Ivy Leaves event, Since I really like those I rehost them here for a clear shot, and to know what you guys think about them.

Contest time! I would like some guests and allies in the THRILLING CONCLUSION of the “Some New Friends” plot arc, and I need your help.
